p.s. 1st day in Gongzhou, Day 7 Sept. 6

We've already posted today, but had such fun going out to lunch, we thought we'd do another. We found a fun western restaurant, Lucy's, where we had our first cheeseburger and fries. It was great! We finally found something that will fill this boy up...we ordered beef noodles for him, but he wanted what we were having, and ended up sharing our cheeseburgers and fries and loved it!
We got stranded at the restaurant during a quick rainstorm, but were laughing at the diehards outside. Long after the rest of us had come inside to wait out the storm, three old guys were not going to let a little rain interfere with their beer out on the patio. They were all under umbrellas, and continued to order another round. I really admire their tenacity! Lucy's was fun, and not a bad place to be stuck during a storm.
Lesson of the day: NEVER, NEVER leave hotel room in Gongzhou without the complimentary umbrella!
We also found a Starbucks, and are looking forward to a good cup of coffee :)
Take care,
Rick and Shauna

Ahhhhh, I bet a good old fashion cheeseburger hit the spot! Thank you for sharing your amazing journey. Very exciting and can't wait to hear the rest of the story. We look forward to meeting Tommy and we're glad the trip is going well. Be safe, have fun and we'll see you soon!

Hello Shauna, Rick & Tommy,
I'm sorry I haven't written for a few days but things are hopping around our homes. First of all CJ is adorable in her new little clothes-yes I have spoiled her...just a little bit! She has been running around going potty in the toilet and we haven't too many pee-pee accidents (OK maybe one) but still working on the #2. It is fun watching her rip off her clother to go potty.
William and Garrett went to a birthday party at the "barn" and jumped until they were exhausted. Both kids are getting along and they have been playing with the neighborhood kids and I did laundry today. Shauna, you would get a kick out of this-guess William ran out of sleeping clothes and I said "just wear the ones you wore last night". His comment was "Mommy always has clothes for me". I told him that Auntie wouldn't be able to be like mommy and he said "she washes my clothes" I told him I would only wash on the weekend before I do school work. He looked at me and said "I wish mommy was here". Then he did the big eye thing and the trembling fat lip-it was so adorable and funny though I kept my laughter inside and not in front of him! Another thing and don't get worried because William is fine. He had the change of weather sniffles and per our conversation itr settled in his chest-had a horrible night so I took him into Dr. V to be seen. Per Dr. V William had an asthma attack and was placed on some new meds and a new inhaler but he is fine!!!!!!! He slept perfectly last night and his chest is clearing up and he isn't wheezing. Kurt and I went back and forth in telling you but if it was Garrett I would want to know, even if things were OK, so please don't be worried-I have my stethscope and at least he didn't fall off the slide backwards HAHAHAHA! I just don't want you two to worry!! William also made me breakfast today-we had cereal and he poured the milk...he has been very helpful! Kurt put out the OU flag in front of our garage. Jessica is going through Rush week and attended the first "U" game tonight (she will sit in the MUSS section. Kurt and I really enjoy your posts and the Starbucks is priceless...is the coffee just like home? Looks like Tommy is enjoying the trip and getting ready to come home, I bet Ricks height has been unique among the masses....is there anything you would like me to prepare before you arrive? The following is the words to you from the kids:
CJ: "mommy home" and "Daddy China, Tommy"
William: "I miss you very much, I want you home, Remember my present and don't forget, Say 'neeha' to Tommy, I love you bye."
Anyway more later keep the posting it is nice to see what you guys are doing...Miss you both. XOXOXO, Allison
